Life jacket Fundraiser to swim safely at Utah Lake

It’s at this time of year that more and more people begin to visit Utah Lake for recreation. The Utah Lake Commission is launching a water safety awareness campaign this month to guarantee that everyone who plans to go swimming knows how to be safe and has the tools to do so.

The Utah Lake Life Jacket Loaner Program offers free life jackets to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. According to the commission’s website, the majority of drownings could have been avoided if the victim had worn a life jacket.

A fundraiser has been set up to help with the purchase of new life jackets for swimmers.

For a fundraiser, members of the Utah Lake Photography Club submitted images of the lake and its surrounds. The show will be on display until May 31. The photography club has teamed up with the Utah Lake Commission, Allen’s Camera, and SCERA Center for the Arts to create an in-person and online gallery of images that can be purchased by anybody. The Utah Lake Life Jacket Loaner Program receives fifty percent of the revenue. Source: https://www.heraldextra.com/news/local/2022/may/08/water-safety-and-life-jackets-stressed-at-utah-lake/
